What we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
This website is operated by Spockhart ("Spockhart", "we", "us"), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Questions about this policy can be sent to john@spockhart.com.
What we collect
- Information you send us. When you use our contact form or email us, we receive what you provide: typically your name, email address, organization, role and message.
- Calculator inputs. The calculator runs in your browser. We do not receive what you enter unless you choose to include the result in a message to us.
- Basic usage data. If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-focused service that counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
How we use it
We use the information you send only to reply to you, to discuss a possible engagement, and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run this website and our business, such as our form processing, email and hosting providers. They may process information outside Canada, and they are permitted to use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to respond and to maintain a business relationship, and then delete it.
Your choices
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. Email john@spockhart.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
